Saturday 17th September
Oamaru to Maclean Falls - Catlins

Pack your smoko, lunch, walking shoes, jackets and camera’s


The trip will depart Oamaru – South City New World 8.30 am
The group will travel to Dunedin – St Clair Esplanade (Beach) and then follow the coastal route to  Kaka Point via Brighton, Taieri Mouth, Toko Mouth , Kaitangata


After lunch at Kaka Point (Bring your lunch and refreshments) the group will travel to the
Nuggets Lighthouse car park for a 40 min return walk to the lighthouse


The group will then head towards the Purakanui Falls (via Cannibal Bay, Owaka)
Allowing for a 15 minute walk to view the falls and return to car park


Our destination for Saturday night is the Whistling Frog Tourist complex – McLean Falls

Evening meal – Saturday night

To allow our group to use the restaurant for a social evening the management have agreed to open the restaurant especially for our group and provide a set menu meal for $35.00 per head.

After dinner sweets and refreshments will be at the individuals apetite, thirst and cost.


Members may wish to view the McLean Falls before the evening meal

Sunday 18th September 2016


The plan is to depart at 8.30 am for Curio Bay
Viewing the petrified forest is tide dependant.

The group will then travel on to Fortrose – Mouth of the Mataura River (bring your morning smoko)


Next stop is Invercargill – at the Richardson truck museum


Our group is booked in for lunch at 11.45 am at the museum café
(lunch and museum entrance your cost)
Members returning to Oamaru can choose to view the museum for as long as they wish


For members staying on for the Monday trip an optional late afternoon trip to Bluff for a photo opportunity at the famous sign post and a short hop to view Oreti Beach

Sunday night meal and accommodation – make your own arrangements

Monday 19th September 2016


Depart 8.30 am for the very popular Maple Glen Gardens at Edendale

(bring your morning smoko, gold coin entrance fee, jacket and walking shoes)


The group will then travel to Riversdale to view the Riversdale Tractor Museum and have lunch at the local café ( 2 cafes )


The destination after lunch is Tuapeka Mouth – via West Otago, Rankleburn Forest, and cross the clutha river on the historic punt


The trip will officially conclude at Lake Waihola – café or lake front
