General Club Information
Howdy members,
My name is Craig Wilkinson and I am the new editor for the NO4WD club newsletter. With no trip reports for the month the newsletter will be a bit vanilla in content but we do have alot to cover in the trip space.
We have a trip this Sunday to finish what we started with Owen planning to complete the Waioranga Coach Road out the back of Waimate. Please call Owen on 6882330 to register for his trip so numbers can be confirmed. The trip leaves at 08:30 on Sunday 31st of August from the Whitestone Panelbeating carpark at the North end. The trip will depart from the Forks hotel carpark so if you want to meet there organise this with Owen.
The next trip is a marathon of a trip leaving either Monday 1st September or Tuesday the 2nd of September. This is organised by Chris to run in his new engine so you need to prepare for the recovery of the landy if it goes pear shape. Chris has reasured me the A frame will be fitted to his landy in case it is converted into a trailer. It wont be a fast trip but it will take you over a couple of passes and into some spectacular west coast country. The trip will be over Haast pass heading north to Authurs pass then home to Oamaru. Call Chris if you want to go. Staying in pubs and feeding yourselves along the way but it will be fun. 0294262228.
Sunday the 7th of September (fathers day) we have a social visit to the back of Methven to watch 4x4 trials and trials bikes do their thing. we have been invited to watch the various trucks and bikes put through their paces. There is a $10 per head charge for this and this fee is a donation to their fundraiser for new clubrooms. There is a van heading there and once full the rest will be self drive. Call or text me to confirm attendance on 0211270470.
Coming up will be a buy/sell page for 4wd related goods you have to sell or need. I will also be adding other content in the future editions as we evolve the newsletter to suit the needs of the club. I look forward to providing informative articles, a bit of banter within the club and making sure everyone is informed of upcoming trips.
Cheers,
Craig Wilkinson
