In this issue...

On a recent trip up to Lake Ohau witnessing the magnitude of the fire that hit the Ohau village was very sobering. The fact that no lives were lost was a miracle.

The fire risk in the areas we travel into should never be under estimated.

2 questions come to mind ..

1. When did you last check your fire extinguisher?

2. Have you got a spark arrestor in your kit?

Presidents Narrative..

Hi everybody,

With the recent spot or 2 of rain I'm sure those of you who have 'ride on' lawn mowers have probably been doing more offroad driving mowing the lawns rather than out and about in your trucks.... if thats the case.. take a break and come along to a trip or 2...

The upcoming trips schedule lists a variety of events leading up to Christmas...

Greg McFarlane's safari planned for the Rainbow / Molesworth area is definitely on. The main trip starts at 9.00am outside the hot pools in Hanmer Springs on Friday 27th November. Greg advises there are still places for late comers..

The Xmas trip and social lunch is planned for the  Sunday 13th December - please refer to the schedule below for more details..

Donald Taylor has confirmed he will be organising another 'Wanaka weekend' at the end of January 2021

Specific details pertaining to these trips will be advised closer to the event

As we have some new members join the club recently it would be really great if you all could attend the end of year Xmas lunch. This is a social day which means all  members present get to have a chat over a lunch and a beveridge.

Safe driving everyone

President Les Weir
