Hi everyone

We just had our AGM last week. Thanks to everyone that was able to be there.

There was some changes on committee with Jennifer stepping down as secretary and Harry has stepped up to be our new one. So a big thank you to Jennifer for all your hard work over the last 2 years. It has been greatly appreciated.

So with Harry now being our new secretary, Ray Thompson is now our new VP . Also Les has stepped down from Social

Convenor with Chris Smyth taking over that job.

Thank you so much Les and Chris for all your effort, hard work and delicious Christmas meals over the years.

Trips: Sorry for the confusion about last month but we had to bring my trip forward a month as Russell's trip had to be postponed.  Still we had a good trip over Haka Pass to Haldon Arm, up Tekapo river to steel bridge. Over Tekapo river to lake Pukaki then around the canals to Lake Ohau and over the weir back to onto the highway.

Thanks for the 9 vehicles that were able to make the trip.

Cheers, Greg

LIFE TUBES.

Life Tubes are a small canister that contains vital medical details they come with a sticker that can be placed on the vehicles glove box or on the fridge at home.

These stickers are recognized by emergency services.

We discussed these at the last meeting the Canterbury Jeep club have these on their list of must haves.

We decided these shouldn't be listed as part of the vehicles equipment but left up to individuals to decide if they want to carry them.

Life Tubes are supplied by Age Concern in Hastings at a cost of $5.00 plus freight

Trip report for Tekapo Iron Bridge and Pukaki Canal

Trip report for Tekapo Iron Bridge and Pukaki Canal trip.

On Sunday the 21st May seven 4 wheel drives set off from the industrial area in Oamaru and headed towards Kurow. We met up with too more vehicles and had a comfort stop before carrying on to Cattle creek for morning tea.

On the trip over Haka Pass Greg noticed the old Summit sign has been replaced with a shiny new one. We wonder how long it will take for this one to be used for target practice.

On to the Haldon Arm Camping ground. A quick comfort stop before heading onto the track to the iron bridge. Since it was a lovely sunny day we formed a circle and chatted over lunch.

It was noted that there is another iron bridge in the area which has sides on it. Maybe an opportunity for another trip to check it out sometime.

We carried on up the Pukaki river till we met the control gates. Past Lake Wardell then followed the canal to Lake Ohau and crossed the weir. We stopped here for a few photos and followed the Ohau river back to the salmon farm where we had a quick debrief then a few went on to Omarama for drink while others went in different directions.

Thanks to Greg and Michelle for organized a very pleasant and relaxing day which we all enjoyed.

Kaye and Ray Thompson
