Both trips will be led by Mark MacDonald, and he will also be collecting names for the dinner on Saturday night. I trust the below gives you enough information to share out to your members, but let us know if you have any questions.

Accommodation - please book this direct with accommodation of your choice. There is accommodation available at Centennial Court Hotel where we will be having dinner, but anywhere in the Alexandra to Cromwell region would suit.

Interclub Trip Day 1 - Pisa Range
Saturday 23 March
Pisa Range from Roaring Meg through to Snow Farm
Followed by a club dinner in Alexandra.

Meet at 8.30am on Saturday 23 March at the Roaring Meg carpark on SH6 ready for a 9am departure. Please ensure you park close together so we can fit the maximum number of trucks in - be aware that this is a high traffic route so take care pulling in and out. Do not park at the start of the track.
This is a Grade 2 shiney truck trip, but you must have good all terrain tyres (no road tyres permitted).
The trip will head up Black Rock which is a steep climb before we head across the Pisa Range - there will be some amazing views so will have plenty of stops for photo opportunities. We'll then traverse across the range and into Snow Farm before dropping down into Cardrona Valley.
Please bring $20 cash with you as there is a road access fee per truck. This will be collected from you at the morning sign in.
Pack some warm clothes with you as it can be cold up the top of the range, and bring lunch as well as the club BBQ will not be attending. It's roughly 60kms of off road so expect it to take about 6 hours.

Dinner
Following the trip there is a meal for members of all 3 clubs at the Centennial Court Hotel in Alexandra. It's a 3 course set menu for $55 - if you would like to attend the dinner please email the  Central Otago 4WDC on co4wdc@gmail.com or text Mark on 0225097201 with the names of all people in your party attending the dinner. We need to provide final numbers to Centennial Court by the 15th March so let Mark know prior to that.

The options for the meal are:
Entree - Shared antipasto grazing platters
Main - Roast beef with roast potatoes, peas, carrots & gravy OR
Bacon wrapped spinach stuffed chicken thigh with roast veg, broccoli and mac & cheese OR
Veg option of harrisa tofu with couscous salad, spinach filo and mushroom sauce.
Dessert - Chef's house made cheesecake OR
Apple crumble with vanilla ice cream

Interclub Trip Day 2 - Mt Cairnmuir
Sunday 24 March
For day 2 of the Interclub weekend we are taking a trip up Mt Cairnmuir which is the hill range that runs alongside the side of Lake Dunstan between Clyde and Cromwell.

Meet at 9am at the Cromwell Big Fruit carpark off Murray Terrace. There's plenty of shops and cafes in the area for a coffee pick me up prior to trip start. We'll be departing at 9.30am sharp.
It's a Grade 2 trip so great for the shiney trucks, but you must have all terrain tyres (no road tyres permitted).
On the trip we will stop at the top of the Lake Dunstan landslide protection - this is a private access area and will offer a unique photo opportunity. If you have a drone you are welcome to bring it to get some great shots.
Whilst at the landslide protection, we will have a short talk from one of Contact Energy's engineers that looks after all the landslides and landscapes in and around the lake and dam.
Following that we will head to an old musters hut to have lunch - please bring your own lunch as the club BBQ will not be attending. Then we'll continue along the range through more private land before dropping down onto the Hawksburn Road and taking this back through to Clyde. We'll then have the opportunity to drive onto and park on the Clyde dam which is closed to the public, making for some more awesome photos. This will be the end of the trip and people can head home from here.
Mark MacDonald is trip lead for both interclub days

Thanks and see you out on the trips!   Cheers Adrienne
